Built by Sweat

wasn't built in a boardroom.

It was built at 4:47 a.m. in a home gym with a full workday ahead. On a turkey ridge in April with a cold thermos and colder hands. On a framing job in July when the deck was so hot it burned through boot soles. On a stage in a small-town bar when the amps went out and the crowd stayed anyway.

"Not Given. Earned." isn't a slogan we picked because it sounded good on a shirt. It's what my dad said the first time I complained about how hard something was. It's what I want my own kids to understand before they're old enough to ask for anything. Nothing that matters gets handed to you — you build it, one sweat-soaked day at a time, and then you hand that down instead.

That's the whole business, honestly. Built by Sweat is a clothing brand, but that's not really the point. The point is the people who wear it — and the fact that all of us are the same, whether we swing a hammer, run a business, pull a trigger, load a bar, or plug in a guitar. We show up. We put in the work. And what we build outlasts us.

Every piece is designed by people who actually wear the thing. Every photo on this site is a real moment. Every person we call "The Crew" is someone we've worked, lifted, hunted, or played music with. That's not marketing. That's just who's here.

THE GUY WHO STARTED IT

I didn’t create Built By Sweat because I needed another logo to put on a shirt. I created it because, without realizing it at the time, I had been living it my entire life.

My road hasn’t been a straight one. I’ve been through seasons that tested me as a man, a husband, a father, and an entrepreneur. I’ve lost people I loved. I’ve watched relationships fall apart. I’ve made mistakes, started over, taken hits financially and personally, and had moments when quitting probably would have been easier than pushing forward.

But I kept moving.

For more than 20 years, I’ve built businesses, worked long days, taken chances, failed, learned, rebuilt, and kept betting on myself. Nothing about my life was handed to me, and looking back, I’m thankful for that. The hard years taught me more than the easy ones ever could.

That is where Built By Sweat comes from.

It isn't just about working with your hands. Sweat represents the work nobody sees—the early mornings, late nights, sacrifices, failures, discipline, and the decision to get back up when life knocks you flat.

At this point in my life, success means something different to me. I'm not interested in simply seeing how much I can accumulate. I want to build things that matter. I want my children to see what consistency, ownership, and hard work look like. I want them to inherit more than things—I want them to inherit an example.

That’s why Leave Your Legacy became such an important part of this brand.
